Screenshots (PC)

From time to time we ask our clients to take a screenshot when they are experiencing a bug. Screenshots give us pieces of information that are essential when we need to fix something, and are especially important if we cannot reproduce a problem on our end. So, this article details the process of how to take a screenshot using Windows. (For Mac users, click here.)

Note: There are multiple ways of taking a screenshot, but we are focusing on just one way that gets us the information we need.

  1. Make sure that the issue you are having is visible and on top. It doesn’t do us any good if you take a screenshot of your favorite game, or of a Word document. Make sure the problem is clearly visible.
  2. Print the screen. Press the button on your keyboard that is labeled Print Screen or Prt Scr or something similar.
  3. Open a blank email message and paste image into body of email. (Press Ctrl + V to paste.)
That’s it. If need be, feel free to take multiple screenshots. If you have any questions,
please ask them below.
